'Shadow Investigations' were inspired by the myriad of images I
would see daily in the City of Chicago. I am interested in how a shadow
appears as a transformed, two-dimensional image, when it actually
occupies a volume between surface and object.

As an exercise and investigation of what a two-dimensional
image would like if it became three-dimensional, I used
Picasso's "Le Guitariste" painting.
A shadow drawing was then transformed into a three-dimensional model.
Through discussions with collaborator Younghwan Choi, we discovered
similar interests and created this proposal.
